A huge component of the success of a business comes from the employees and the staff that make up the business. After all, the employees are the ones responsible for the day-to-day operations of the business. It does not matter if your business sells widgets or provides a service to customers, when you have happy employees, this happiness transfers to the customers, which translates to overall success for your business.

Educate Your Employees

One of the elements that can cause rifts and issues behind your business walls is sexual harassment.  Seek the council of a Los Angeles sexual harassment lawyer, for your business to educate you and your employees on their rights.  Also, you may wish to proactively teach employees what sexual harassment is and how to avoid it becoming a problem in the workplace.

Put it in Writing

Training sessions, where you review what sexual harassment is and the company’s policy on sexual harassment issues should be followed-up with a policy in writing. You should consider creating a sexual harassment handbook that is distributed to each employee as they become an employee. You should also revisit the policy once or twice a year with a special meeting or training session. You can also hang signs in the employee break room and other areas around the business to remind employees of the no-tolerance policy on sexual harassment.

Practice What You Preach

As a manager or the owner of the company, it is imperative that you walk the talk. Not only do you have to lay down the law on sexual harassment in your workplace, but you also have to abide the rules as well by leading by example for your employees.
